50’s Fabulous Farmhouse

To be honest, I am not sure how we survived this one. I like to call this 1950’s Ranch the “50’s Fabulous Farmhouse” because, at the end of the day, that is what we created. However, we could also coin this one our “MBA” into home renovations.  If it could happen, it did happen on this project and it seemed like one setback after another. To say we learned so much from this 1950’s Ranch renovation, would be an understatement. From buying sight unseen off-market, permitting, renovating, and even the selling process we learned so much. We are grateful for the lessons (today, not when we were going through them) and are proud of the finished product.

Here is the list of the fun items we updated:

  • New Flooring in the entire house
  • New Paint on walls, trim, ceiling, and doors
  • Completely brand-new kitchen
  • Updated Bathroom
  • All new interior and exterior doors
  • All new light fixtures and ceiling fans

Here is the not-so-fun list and where most of the lessons came from:

  • Structural Engineering
  • Asbestos Removal
  • New Furnace
  • New Gas Tank
  • New Gas Lines
  • New Electrical
  • New Windows
